The museum has been very fortunate to receive a gift of 12,000 Physogaleus contortus teeth from George Oliver! Friends of the Museum member, Tom Caggiano, has used these teeth for a wonderful display that explains the rate of tooth loss and growth in sharks. Be sure to check it out when you visit.
Our new Learning Center is now open and staffed by a loyal and knowlegeable group of volunteers. Friends of the Museum have donated new tables and chairs for classes and meetings. New paint, carpeting and air conditioning have made this a more comfortable place for all to visit. A lending library of scientific literature is available and outdoor classes and other gatherings can be held under the covered pavilion. An outstanding collection of rocks, fossils and minerals from around the world representing a timeline of prehistory fill display cabinets. Wall art depicts the earth as it may have appeared at various times in the past. Here is a preview of our new displays.
